NEW BASF WEBINAR
Organozinc halides in organic synthesis

The next webinar offered by BASF’s Inorganics Team in Evans City, Pennsylvania, will deal with a subject that points the way to the future of C-C cross-coupling: “Organozinc Halides in Organic Synthesis.” Dr. Andreas Leitner, head of the Zn R&D team in North America, will host the seminar.
Organozinc compounds are selective reagents and represent a powerful tool for carbon-carbon bond forming reactions. They provide functional group selectivity unknown so far for organometallic compounds and are available on lab to commercial scale from BASF. Over the past years, organozinc reagents have been widely used in the total synthesis of natural products, and in pharmaceutical chemistry. This presentation will cover recent developments of organozinc chemistry and the Negishi cross-coupling technology. Applications of this novel transformation on scale will be an additional focus.
