Flame retardance due to phosphorus content |
The high phosphorus content of VPA (29 %) and VPADME (23 %) imparts flame-retardant properties. In combination with polymer insertion, the disadvantages of additive flame retardants (i.e., premature volatility of the flame retardant) can be avoided.
