Curing agents: Polyetheramines

Photo: Worker at roof
Among the polyetheramines used as curing agents Polyetheramine D 2000 is by far the most commonly applied product. Addition of Polyetheramine D 230 and D 400 leads to higher reactivity of the curing system and also to harder films. If very high hardness is desired the trifunctional Polyetheramine T 403 provides for a stronger crosslinking. With the very long-chain Polyetheramine T 5000 as part of the curing system very flexible and elastic films are obtained. In addition to high flexibility the Polytetrahydrofuranamine 1700 leads to reduced moisture uptake and swelling as well as to improved abrasion resistance.
