aMDEA®

The first choice in gas purification technology is the aMDEA process - short for "activated Methyldiethanolamine" - for removal of acid gases such as hydrogen sulfide (H2S) and carbon dioxide (CO2). aMDEA has been used with success for many years around the world in more than 240 gas purification plants - mainly in natural gas, ammonia and syngas plants.
Our customers appreciate this highly efficient and environmentally friendly technology for its flexibility and low capital expenditure (CAPEX). Additionally, the low energy demand of the process combined with the non-corrosive nature of the solvent keeps operating and maintenance costs (OPEX) low. The process also provides a high level of gas purity and product gas recovery while maintaining solvent losses at a minimum.

Omnisulf®1
The comprehensive Omnisulf process developed together with our partner Lurgi, combines various process elements which complement each other perfectly. Built upon aMDEA, Omnisulf removes CO2, H2S and mercaptans. The novel process also produces sulfur or generates acid gas that may be re-injected for either enhanced oil recovery or disposal. A particularly interesting feature is a total process guarantee underpinning Omnisulf’s excellent safety and reliability.
ADEG®> ADEG is BASF's registered trademark for Amino-Di-Ethylene-Glycol. ADEG features high CO2 and H2S removal efficiency at low partial pressure resulting in optimized utility consumption and low overall operating expenses (OPEX). It is especially suited for treatment of natural gas containing COS and mercaptans.

PuraTreatTM R

PuraTreat R is a high-performance solvent used for the removal of CO2 + H2S, and the selective removal of H2S respectively, specifically in gas streams containing olefins and/or oxygen. In addition to high stability in the presence of olefins and oxygen, the use of PuraTreat is associated with negligible vapor pressure. The product also offers particularly low hydrocarbon solubility (lower than water). PuraTreat R contains no ethanolamines. It is non-toxic and biodegradable.
Morphysorb®2
The UHDE Morphysorb process is a new acid gas removal technology based on the use of a physical solvent supplied by BASF. The key advantage of Morphysorb technology is a high acid gas capacity coupled with low solubility of C1 to C3 hydrocarbons, resulting in a higher product yield. Morphysorb is capable of removing organic sulfur compounds (mercaptans, CS2, COS) from the feed gas at the same time. Due to the high selectivity of the solvent, the Morphysorb process is capable of generating an acid gas stream that is suitable for Claus plants.

sMDEATM
sMDEA is a MDEA based solvent for selective H2S removal. The advanced sMDEA formulation has a higher H2S selectivity than pure MDEA and the process also requires less energy. BASF's high-quality MDEA also ensures unsurpassed thermal and chemical stability, resulting in improved plant operation.
